Discover Mallorca and enjoy in Villa Esquina
By Thijs Peters 1st July 2021
Located in beautiful Pollenca, we find accommodation that exceeds all your wildest expectations. Of course we will also discover the beautiful surroundings on our racing bikes. But what a beautiful house it is. Villa Esquina is located on the outskirts of Pollenca. You can easily reach the center by car and within walking distance we will find a delicious restaurant. At La Braseria we enjoy a delicious menu with fresh dishes twice. But you can also enjoy a barbecue in the villa. There is a barbecue available. So the choice is huge! And certainly in corona times handy to just eat at home. And if that doesn't work on the barbecue, you also have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal. By now you are of course curious about the rest!
Villa Esquina
Andy and Sarah completely renovated the house in 2018. On the site you can read a bit about how that process took place. Now it has become a beautiful and luxurious villa with five luxurious bedrooms and even five bathrooms. Each room has its own bathroom. That is certainly a luxury when you are out with your family or cycling club! In addition, there are three balconies on the upper floors so that you can also create a little privacy. The bedrooms are furnished with luxurious double beds with very nice duvets. In addition, all rooms have a seat. All luxury with of course a bathroom. The showers are nice and equipped with hot water. Towels are of course also included, including towels for the pool. Swimming pool? Yes, the luxury villa also has a beautiful swimming pool.
The heated pool can be closed with a rolling cloth. This protects it from dirt. In the enormous garden, the fifteen meter long swimming pool is certainly a relief. In the warm weather you can freshen up and after a long bike ride through the mountains you can cool down. There are also plenty of sun beds available in the garden so that everyone has their place to sunbathe. A “Chilhoekje” has also been made in a corner between the tropical plants. There is a double lounger where you can enjoy the view of the villa and the background. There you see the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. There is also a sports field where you can play football, a basketball net and a large terrace with barbecue. And a luxurious outdoor kitchen! In the hammock chair you can take a good look at your ride on Strava while wobbling.
We go back inside. The living room can actually be divided in two. The first is the large room with sitting area and an open kitchen. The open kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of crockery, pans and of course all other necessities. The dishwasher is of course a must. The second part of the living room can be reached through French doors. The attention to detail is also beautiful throughout the villa. Nice accessories everywhere that go well with the house. This is no different in this living room. A unique telescope and some paintings. But of course also a pool table! A game of pool is of course always fun. There is also a seating area with TV, Apple TV and PlayStation. In short, a beautiful house. And I forgot to mention how beautiful the entrance is. In the hall a beautiful staircase has been made to the top. There is enough space to put the bike down. Outside there is plenty of parking space and the villa is closed with a gate. You can open it with a remote control! Do you like it? Please visit https://www.villaesquina.com/ for more information and contact Sarah and Andy to book!
A trip through the mountains of Mallorca
We drive from our house in the direction of Pollenca. This village is located inland and counts as the gate of the Serra de Tramuntana. After a nice climbing route we arrive at our first stop: Lluc! Sounds like a person, is a Monastery. You park the car in the parking lot. Do not buy a ticket for the parking lot there, because inside the monastery you can buy a ticket for 5 euros. You also have access to other interesting religious sites on the island. Inside the chapel you can enjoy the beautiful statues and the amount of gold. During an hour you will get to know beautiful gardens, friendly people and you will see the holy cross overlooking the monastery.
We continue this beautiful route through the mountains and soon arrive at a viewpoint. Here you can see the sea and the beautiful wide surroundings. You can optionally do the drive down to Sa Calobra (13km). This is a tough ride for even the experienced driver, but it is definitely worth it. Read more in the other Mallorca article about Sa Calobra. We drive on and pass the pointed highest mountain of Mallorca, the Puig Major. Unfortunately you can't just get over it, but a little further you do have a beautiful onion
