A villa within walking distance of Pollença old town

Plenty of villas say they're "near" Pollença. Villa Esquina is around a 20–25 minute walk from the old town, so you can leave the car on the drive, stroll in for dinner and not have to decide who's driving home.

You get the space of a proper villa – five bedrooms, a 15-metre pool and a big garden – and the town's squares, restaurants and Sunday market are within reach on foot.

What's in the old town

  • Plaça Major: the main square and the heart of the town, with its traditional architecture
  • El Calvari: 365 steps up from the town. Worth doing once, ideally early in the morning before the heat
  • Puig de Maria: a 4.31 km walk to the sanctuary on the hill above the town
  • Food and drink: restaurants and bars serving everything from tapas to seafood paella
  • Museums and galleries: a good option for a hot afternoon

The Sunday market

Every Sunday from 08:00 to 13:30, about 300 stalls fill the streets around the Plaça Major. It's a good reason to walk in early, pick up fruit, bread and cheese for lunch by the pool, and be home before the heat.

Festivals

The town's best-known fiesta is the Moors and Christians, held every August. In winter, the old town has festive lights, and a walk in on a crisp, sunny day is one of the nicest parts of a Christmas stay.
